EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The meaning of co-curricular activities revolves around its different feature and characteristics. For the overall development of a child, curriculum is not only the single criteria. The holistic growth as well as to develop the various facets of personality development of children; classroom teaching should be supplemented with co-curricular activities. These out of class activities affect all domains of life such as cognitive (intellectual), emotional, social, moral, cultural and aesthetic. Co-curricular activities meaning are more focused upon cognitive aspects thereby help in intellectual development. Competitiveness, excellence, quality achievements, creativeness and enthusiasm are few of the ethics of extra-curricular activities and also strengthen the meaning of co curricular activities in school.

Yoga Classes

Our School hosts weekly Yoga classes for the students. Flexibility of body and mental peace are some of the key benefits of regular yoga. Yoga is accepted worldwide as one of the most effective form of exercise to influence the mental control. Yoga is a compulsory activity at our School and there are no extra charges. A qualified yoga trainer imparts basic yoga knowledge for the students. .

Karate Classes

One of the most ancient arts, Karate has been opted by our school as a regular course for the symbol of bravery and self defense of the students. This training is very essential for us in this modern world. Especially for the female, it is a boon as their self protection. The frequent and regular practice of this art enables our body to remain fit and free from malady. Apart from this, this art can be availed in the field of sports. The students are trained regularly here by our well qualified and experienced trainers. Moreover, they are provided with uniform and encouraged to participate in various competitions such as state levels and national levels. .

Dance Classes

We at Soorya strongly believe in synchronization of the academic and the cultural part in a student. Indian classical and semi classical dance forms like Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Folkdance students are given the opportunity to learn western dance forms also. Exposure is given to the students through participation in various competitions at the district, state and national level. .

VOCAL MUSIC

Vocal music is probably the oldest form of music, since it does not require any instrument besides the human voice. All musical cultures have some form of vocal music. A qualified vocal music trainer imparts basic vocal knowledge (Carnatic) for the students. .

SPORTS

Fun and games are fundamental to the learning process that involves little children. To inculcate in them a spirit of confidence, participation and sportsmanship, the schools offers a range of indoor and outdoor games. The school also holds an Annual Sports Meet in December, around Christmas time. Ample opportunities are created to students to excel other extra-curricular activities.
